Elgregoe poems

Contributing

Contributing means working together
It's like a pirate crew digging for treasure
Contributing is when you talk
If you don't I'll watch you like a hawk
I'll talk to you, it's my pleasure.

Wits

Wits that's the best
Wits I'll be the guest
Use your wits to beat the bully
Use your wits to beat him fully
Wits that was the test.

Kia ora Students, Whanau and Community Members

Our new school year is now well underway with Room One students settling in well into their programmes of learning. Welcome to all new and returning students for 2015!
The photo attached to this blog is an example of student work from this term, in which we as a class  have created a metaphor for our learning and for our class.
Our waka represents all of us working together to achieve our best as a class and as individuals. The paddles illustrate the core values and attributes needed by students to achieve. Below the waka the students have broken down the vocabulary and described what each core value and attribute looks like, sounds like and feels like in our classroom in an everyday learning context.
The waka will be referred back to throughout the year as a model for excellence and achivement!
Thank you to all the wonderful people who have made me feel so welcome in our school. I look forward to the year ahead and the adventures it will bring!
